Your removal rights, state by state

16 states have a comprehensive privacy law with a deletion right. One of them, California, also runs a platform that does the work for you, free. Everywhere else the right exists and you or someone acting for you has to exercise it, one company at a time.

If your state is not listed, you still have options. Most brokers honour an opt-out request from anyone because it is cheaper than arguing, and the do-it-yourself guide works regardless of where you live.
